Teradata<\/a> (NYSE: TDC), the Pervasive Data Intelligence company, announced three new offerings for its Teradata Vantage platform, reflecting Teradata\u2019s commitment to offering as-a-service capabilities to meet the needs of their customers. These capabilities provide choice and flexibility for customers operating on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, private cloud or hybrid cloud environments. New offers include (1) adding AWS Marketplace as a channel for consuming Teradata software on an as-a-service basis, (2) introducing a turnkey on-premises offer which provides key cloud benefits while remaining within customers\u2019 data centers and (3) driving a new hybrid cloud disaster recovery service to complement a firm\u2019s physical infrastructure with an on-demand secondary system in the cloud. By leveraging automation and Teradata\u2019s unique expertise in managing complex analytic environments at scale, organizations can focus instead on finding answers to their toughest business challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today\u2019s enterprises are increasingly turning\nto cloud-based, as-a-service offerings to move faster, be more responsive and\nadd capabilities as needed, while ensuring they remain on the latest software release\nand reduce the drag of technical debt. Teradata addresses these requirements and\nmore as each new as-a-service offering extends the value and application of\nVantage, Teradata\u2019s flagship platform that was designed to simplify analytic\necosystems and de-risk decision-making, even at scale. In addition to providing\naccess to 100 percent of an organization\u2019s information, Vantage consolidates analytic\nsilos into a single platform. The location of the data or workloads is not a\ndeterrent, since the same Vantage software runs on every deployment option. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now available as-a-service on AWS, Microsoft\nAzure, Teradata Cloud and on-premises, Teradata Vantage empowers firms to\nconsume the company\u2019s market-leading analytic capabilities any way they prefer,\nin the environment they prefer. This choice and flexibility is highly\nsupportive of a hybrid cloud environment and ensures that Teradata customers\naren\u2019t held back from, or forced into, decisions about when and how to leverage\nthe cloud in conjunction with their on-premises analytic ecosystems. Vantage: Now available as-a-service through AWS Marketplace<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simplifying\nthe process for subscribing to Teradata services,\nnew options for Teradata Vantage allow customers to purchase some of the most up-to-date,\ninnovative and effective analytic environments as-a-service on AWS. This new\noffering was designed to ease procurement by allowing customers to subscribe via\nwhat is often a pre-approved and preferred channel, making it easy to consume\nVantage through an elastic, flexible capacity, as-a-service pricing model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Existing\nAWS Marketplace users can bypass the time-consuming and frequently challenging\nprocess of gaining approval for a new purchase channel. The contract will be\nbetween the customer and AWS Marketplace and will appear on the monthly AWS statement\nas a single, simple transaction for the integrated package of Vantage software,\nAWS infrastructure and Teradata environment services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Backed\nby the power of Vantage, firms subscribing through AWS Marketplace will find a\nunified, integrated environment delivering the best analytic functions and\nengines, accommodating preferred tools and languages, plus providing flexible\nsupport for multiple data types, formats and heterogeneous data stores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vantage: Now available as-a-service for on-premises deployments<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enterprises\noften have pre-existing large, long-term investments in their own data centers\nand infrastructure, creating associated data gravity and difficulties in moving\nto the cloud. Despite the attraction of hybrid cloud computing environments,\nmany of these businesses choose to remain on-premises due to preference or\nregulatory requirements. The ideal solution would deliver the benefits of cloud\nconsumption \u2013 agility, flexibility and seamless elasticity \u2013 without the\ntrouble of moving data and applications offsite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Vantage, these customers gain the managed\nand elasticity advantages of the cloud and the industry\u2019s only platform for\npervasive data\nintelligence, all while remaining within\na physical domain they know and trust near the associated people, data and\napplication ecosystem. To\nprovide this \u201cbest of both worlds\u201d hybrid cloud solution, Teradata provisions Vantage\nsoftware and purpose-built infrastructure within an organization\u2019s data center\nand then monitors and manages the environment remotely. This approach allows Teradata\ncustomers to utilize their existing training, workflow, procedures and software\ncustomizations, thereby maximizing return on previous analytic investments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Disaster Recovery As-a-Service<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another critical offering for organizations\nwith on-premises deployments is Teradata Disaster Recovery As-a-Service\n(DRaaS), a hybrid cloud business continuity offering designed to mitigate the\neffect of catastrophic events. The unexpected loss of a production analytics\nsystem could mean more than just lost revenue; unplanned downtime can lead to\nloss of data and business reputation, decreased client satisfaction and retention,\nreduced employee morale, productivity issues and legal entanglements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the company\u2019s new DRaaS\noffering, Teradata employs the pay-as-you-go nature of the cloud to ensure customer\nbusiness operations can continue with minimal disruption.
